KHURSHEED MAJEED HOSPITAL

Establishing this hospital in a poor locality of Lahore, the capital of Punjab province, for the low income class and poor people was the initiative of a retired Brigadier of the Pakistan Army, M. Amjad Adrees Mir. He , while in the PTCL in the year 2005, came across a saying of Prophet Muhammad (M.P.U.H), which motivated him to under-take this venture. That saying goes like this. One day a piece of meat came to the prophet. His wife distributed major chunk of the meat amongst the poor and the needy and preserved a small piece for him. On his return to the house, she told that to the prophet who was very pleased on her action and said, “you have done a great job, but remember, you have not preserved this small piece for me, but, that major chunk of meat which you have distributed to the needy is the one that you have saved for me in the world-here-after. That saying jolted Brig. Amjad, and compelled him to ponder over his savings in the bank of the world-here-after. Finding none worthwhile, he embarked upon enhancing his deposits. He asked his son Doctor Zeshan to open a small hospital in any poor locality of Lahore. Thus, Ghazi Abad was selected for that purpose. It is a thickly populated area with over half a million people, majority living in small houses with narrow streets, poor sanitation, and polluted environments. Brig. Amjad hired eight out of eleven newly constructed small shops, sold his own private car and spent that amount on renovation and convertion of those shops into a small 10 bedded hospital which started from September 2005. Brig. Amjad left his job in the PTCL and took over the administration of this mini hospital himself. Similarly , his son, Dr. Zeshan also left various hospitals and devoted full time to this hospital in the spirit of serving the poor and destitute even at the cost of his own future career. The name of the hospital came from the Brigadier’s parents names. The basic purpose of establishing this hospital in such a poor locality of Lahore is to PLEASE God by serving his human beings, his creation, without any distinction of colour, creed, cast , money and religion. It is not a business concern, it is not a factory to mint money, but it is a welfare institute for Treatment and Rehabilitation of the poor lot of people, so as to make them once again the useful citizens in this part of the planet. OBJECTIVES October 7, 2007 Khursheed Majeed Hospital has following objectives:- Provide quality medical treatment to low income class of people at their door steps at the most economical rates. Provide free but quality medical treatment to widows, orphans, the poor and destitute. Rid these poor people of quacks functioning in the area and playing with their lives. Provide 24 hours emergency services to people to save their precious lives. Undertake research and gain clinical experience and knowledge to pass on to others in the world.
