SOCIETY FOR THE ADVANCEMENT

We have been established since 2002 and our mission is to help improve social justice and awareness to create an understanding of human rights issue. We want to reduce gender disparity that exists in the legal profession in terms of practice. Pakistani Universities have made huge contributions in the fields of religion, education and development fields but unfortunately our women cannot carry these skills into the practical world of work. Hundreds of female students are graduating annually and are mainly taught Shariah law. However, these new law graduates cannot practice the law of Pakistan which is based on common law principles. The failure to equip these students for the world of work has instigated our commitment to the legal education of women.
