The PRIME Institute (Policy Research Institute of Market Economy) is a Pakistani public policy think tank based in Islamabad. The Institute was founded in 2013 by economist Ali Salman, and since 2016 has been registered with the government of Pakistan as a nonprofit trust. PRIME is headquartered in the heart of Islamabad’s commercial hub, the Blue Area. PRIME conducts public policy research. We publish long-form and short form studies, and we produce educational videos on economic policy in Pakistan. We are constantly engaged as advisers to governments at the Federal, Provincial and Local levels, and work in partnership with the top academic institutions in the country. Our primary themes include business policy, governance policy and macroeconomic policy.
