President’s Message
By the Grace of Almighty Allah another year in the life of PSRD has passed successfully. The year saw a renewed emphasis on raising awareness about the problems of persons with disabilities by holding seminars on various global days of services viz World Osteoporosis Day, World Occupational Therapy Day, World Physical Therapy Day and also on International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Award giving ceremonies were held by Vocational Rehabilitation Centre to appreciate and encourage differently abled persons who achieved success in their enterprises with the help of loans granted by the Centre. Similarly the Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) was also active in granting small loans and encouraging individuals to set up their own businesses. As a result the Vocational Rehabilitation Centre (VRC) and CBR were helpful in raising awareness and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
In order to enlarge the scope of PSRD activities it collaborated with the Punjab Welfare Trust for the Disabled and other organizations espousing the cause of persons with disabilities. Servis Foundation has also agreed to contribute its continued support to the noble services provided by PSRD for differently abled persons.
The PSRD College of Rehabilitation Sciences produced good results in first and second year examinations of Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Pathology and Doctor in Physiotherapy and secured top positions in the examinations conducted by the University of Health Sciences To whom we are affiliated.
However we still feel that we have a long way to go in terms of latest techniques and methods but with God’s blessings we will Inshallah overcome the problems also. We are thankful to our donors who have been a source of strength and motivation. We sincerely hope they will continue to support us in the year to come.
