Every 5 seconds, someone in the world goes blind.
An estimated number of 1.4 million children are blind.
Around 120 million people are visually impaired because of uncorrected refractive errors.
At least 2.2 billion people live with a vision impairment. In at least 1 billion of these cases, vision impairment could have been prevented or has yet to be addressed.
Every minute a child goes blind in this world.
An estimated 82 % of all people with blindness are over 50 years old.
90% of visually impaired people live in low- and middle-income countries.

This secondary care level eye hospital was established in June 2018. It is furnished with the required facilities, infrastructure, instruments and human resource. The hospital caters a daily OPD of around 100 patients having ophthalmic problems like, ocular infections, allergies, refractive errors, cataract and glaucoma etc.
The hospital conducts weekly two list of surgeries related to anterior segment with Phacoemulsification and Intra Ocular Lens Implantations. It also provides the services of glaucoma surgeries. All the services are free of cost.
