Purpose
The ETL/Data Engineer will be involved in the design, development, testing and deployment of ETL jobs built using Talend/SSIS/T-SQL and MySQL. The developer should be able to process data from different source systems (Databases, Flat files, XML etc.) for Enterprise Data Warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
Consult with project teams and end users to identify ETL requirements.
Responsible for translating functional ETL requirements into a technical design document.
Building the ETL jobs and sequences to load data from source systems to Data Warehouse.
Responsible for maintaining change data history (SCD-II) for dimensional data.
Responsible for mapping multiple Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL source databases to centralized SQL Server target system(s) intended to supply business intelligence and general reporting systems.
Monitor, enhance and troubleshoot existing ETL processes.
Ensure audit trail/logging for all ETL processes have.
Automation and Innovation for data manipulation and information management.
Complete root cause analysis and contribute to remediation planning and implementation
Perform data quality analysis, report data quality issues and propose solutions for data quality management
The ideal candidate will have
Minimum 4 years of experience with Talend/SSIS packages and SQL development (T-SQL preferred).
Working knowledge of data warehousing concepts, structures and ETL best practices
Good understanding of business intelligence mechanism and tools.
Strong SQL writing abilities.
Expertise in advance MS Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelors of Engineering/Sciences in Computers/Software
