Within a span of three years, the plant was constructed and Roche Pakistan started local manufacturing in October 1987.
In recent years, as Roche Pakistan strategic focus moved towards its biotechnology medicines meant for the treatment of cancer, hepatitis and chronic anaemia, most of the traditional pharmaceutical business alongwith the factory were divested in 2010.
